At Altima Partners, he structured and launched a dedicated India fund and was involved in fundraising with institutions including the World Bank, Blackstone, Lombard Odier, and QIA — some of the most demanding allocators in the world. He has also bootstrapped and scaled his own ventures, giving him a founder's perspective on capital raising that complements his institutional background.
His advisory work is particularly relevant for companies and founders operating across the UK and India, for businesses in the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors where his heritage is deepest, for real estate and proptech ventures where he has direct operating experience, and for situations where the counterparties include institutional investors, private equity funds, or sovereign entities. Investments
Atul Setia invests as a principal across both public and private markets. His investment approach was forged at Altima Partners, where he invested and managed approximately $1 billion of India-focused capital across listed equities and private equity — an experience that combined the analytical discipline of a hedge fund with the deep due diligence and operational engagement of a private equity investor.
